
This is my first post on this blog and I would like to introduce myself. My name is Matthew Brook and I leave in worcestershire in the UK. I have two young children and a cockapoo. I work on a self employed basis for a wealth management firm as a financial paraplanner.
As a person who enjoys being outside and physical activity moving into running was a natural progression especially after Covid.
My goal on this blog is to show you my progress towards aiming to run the Mont Blanc Ultra Marathon. Hopefully being relatively competitive whilst running it as well.
At present I have done three ultra marathons over a period of four years with mixed success. My UTMB standing. I’ve also completed three marathons with my fastest time being 3 hours and 35 minutes at Chester in 2023. So I come from a decent running background to start with.
Over the course of this blog I will show you my runs, training and nutrition. I will also looking at research and areas that might improve my performance and hopefully backed up with evidence of this as well.
One of my main goals is to be as physically fit and healthy as possible whilst still maintaining a good social life in my spare time.
Hopefully this first post ages well and if not then you will see some improvement in my writing skills and website over the years.
